to Jacksonville’s newest cultural amenity –
the Riverside Arts
Market. This venue allows us to celebrate the city's
many talented artists as well as the
magnificent St. Johns River. It is my hope that the Riverside Arts
Market becomes a weekly institution and a destination for art
appreciation and relaxation. The
market is attracting visitors as well as residents from all over Duval
County and the surrounding First Coast area. The banks of the St. Johns
River are the perfect backdrop for the renewal of art appreciation and
the acknowledgement of the vast talent that resides in our community. I want to thank the organizers of the Riverside Arts Market and Riverside Avondale Preservation, Inc. for the work these civic-minded groups have done to make this market a reality. It is an example of how city and cultural groups can work together to better our overall quality of life. Finally, thanks to the artists and exhibitors who will show their creations at the Riverside Arts Market.
