Future Plans for the Riverside Arts Market.
 This Is Just the Beginning!After over 16 years of planning, the Riverside Arts Market is finally a reality. Our second market season is just the beginning. Although initially our market is open only on Saturdays, in future years we plan to have an expanded and perhaps somewhat varied market on Sundays. The Market site is such a unique all-weather outdoor venue, we are planning other public events including concerts and evening movies-by-the river, which will bring audiences here during the week. Currently underway are plans (see diagram at right) to expand the site across Riverside Avenue as a scenic promenade beside a man-made lagoon under the bridge, with sculptures and water features, connecting the Riverside Arts Market to Riverside Park and 5 Points. The plans shown here were designed by Melody Bishop, the archiitect who designed the RAM site and the River Walk. Her talents and vision have made RAM one of the great public spaces in Florida, and this expansion across Riverside Avenue will make it even more spectacular. Construction of the expansion is scheduled to begin later this year. Stay tuned!  |
