Kathryn
Page

Kathryn Page is a fabric artist and fashion designer who creates
clothes which express a casual elegance. Her clothing has an aura of
the sensual without being overly sexy. She uses colors and textures
which, on their own, might not seem to go together, but all together
they form a wonderful confection with a sumptuous visual appeal. Every
item designed by Kathryn Page is completely hand made and one of a kind.
“Nature inspires me” Kathryn says. “Living in Florida, I am enamored by
the colors of the water and the foliage. It is so lush and green here.
I am a passionate sort of person, and I love color. Sometimes just a
single color will give me inspiration. I want to make women feel pretty
and feminine. I am driven and very dedicated to what I do. I am
complete when I am creating.”
Kathryn says she is “inspired by romantic vintage influences. Fashion
should be about fantasies that transport us from the everyday routine
of life”.
Kathryn grew up in the Midwest then moved to New York City in the
1960's. She always enjoyed wearing unusual clothing and continues today
creating unique looks for the public. While living in Manhattan, she
designed shoes for Herbert Levine and was a contributing editor to Ladies Home Journal, as well as Needle & Craft Magazine. Her
paper shoe designs were published in Harper's
Bazaar, and her work was included in several exhibits at the
Museum of Contemporary Crafts. Kathryn enjoys creating fantasy inspired
art-to-wear incorporating her hand-dyed fabrics as a fiber artist.
She and her husband Michael travel to the Riverside Arts Market each
week from their home in Mount Dora, Florida.
